Great race, handicap not too bad for a first attempt this year!

Chris Whorral timed his sprint to perfection although seasoned campaigner Peter Gage nearly beat him to the line when Chris sat up and celebrated perhaps a little early.

 All the groups were really flying with the race coming together on the final circuit. Tim Kennaugh had a few attempts to break away but was foiled each time by the fast moving bunch.

 Good to see Andrew Roche in the field riding with a cracked bone in his shoulder.

 The younger riders are becoming ever stronger and prominent making the older generations (notably Richard Fletcher and Gary Hinds) suffer on the road.

 Thanks to all for entering it’s going to be a great series.

 Peter Gage takes the Series Leader Jersey into round 2 next week as Chris Whorral was a single event entry. The handicaps will be altered slightly
