BUBBLES' BANTER

19 April 09: HELL OF THE WEST!

Peter Gage in the 'red jersey' started the race,
Peel in the sunshine, 75 miles we would pace.
Again Marty Warren was first to attack from the front,
Roche and Hatcher moved forward. Out on the hunt.
Little Hatcher, his chain fell apart on lap 2,
On with the race. No time to review.
Flynn, O'Shea and Smettem went off the back,
Legs that were heavy and nailed to the track!
Gav Quayle found out, he wasn't so ace,
He got caught up by the other race.
On the last lap, Roche he attacked, jumped away,
Followed by Hatcher and Warren. Another good day.
Tom Black clipped off the front of the bunch,
Like his Gorey win, became 4th with some punch!
Then to 'The Gallop' for 5th it drew near,
Livesey jumped first, but Bubs, he was well clear.
A 100% record he holds, in bunch gallops - he's FIT,
If you give him a call, he'll talk you through it!
Livesey held on for 6th and he achieved,
Peter Gage the 'red jersey' for 7th he weaved.
Some notable times and rides in the race,
Mazzone had his first 'A' race, that's no disgrace.
The 1st schoolboy home - so top of the class,
Keep up the good work. A distinction. A pass.
Then there was Adam Johnson, 1st Junior home,
To the delight of his mum and dads groans.
After the points were added and scored,
Warren and Gage top scores on the board.
They'll have to share top 'red jersey' - or then
Take on a duel at the 'Cronk' in the next TEN,
Organisation can't happen without some names of note,
Brian Johnson, Tanya Sanderson, Phil Knights have our vote.
Manx Viking Wheelers are on top form, even up Creg Willeys climb,
We can't do without them, giving their valuable time.
Thanks to the Marshals and Officials. They always help out.
On Sunday - the sunshine - It's what road racings about.
